Google’s social media platform has started to integrate into the Google Places business listings
“This was first spotted by Mike Blumenthal who pointed out that Google+ pages were showing up in Google’s local results when he randomly searched for the keywords “transmission servicing lexington ky”. The results page showed not only the expected Google Places listing but also an unexpected element; a grey colored Google + Page icon appeared next to selected Place Page results. When clicking on the icon, Mike was redirected to a search result page containing Google+ pages only.”
We haven’t seen any evidence of this in Australia yet, but were sure if the testing goes well we normally see it pretty quickly. This is a power move to make Google+ and Google+ pages even more relevant in search. So our tip is jump in early and get your page setup and we’ll keep you informed on the latest developments.
